It can take 2-6 months for Circana to complete coding updates for items which are already coded/established in their database.
It can take 2-6 months after we submit a coding update request before we see those updates reflected in our weekly deliveries. The wait time partially depends upon where the request lands in Circana’s restatement cycle timeline. Another factor is whether the UPC is being rebranded/recycled or was initially coded incorrectly.
Circana completes updates to the coding for VENDOR values and STYLE values more frequently than other values. Vendor and Style values can be updated in between Circana's scheduled quarterly update events, which occur four times per year.
For all other values ((brand values, count, package size, etc.), updates get scheduled for Circana's next "quarterly product update” event. Circana has strict submission windows/deadlines for these quarterly events. For instance, this year's submission deadline for the Q1 event was January 15, and the Q1 product update event happened in mid-March. The submissions window for the Q2 event was January 15-May 15, and the Q2 event occurred in mid-July. Thus, if your update request was submitted in early February, you'd be waiting approximately 5 months to see that product's coding updated in Mid-July. If you'd submitted it in early May, you'd only be waiting about 2 months to see it updated.
