Is it Possible to See How Many Times a Merchandising Condition Has Occurred Within a Chosen Time Period?
Rather than measuring this as a numeric count of stores where a condition existed, Circana measures it as the percentage of the market where a Merch Condition was active when the item/brand scanned at the register.
We don't receive a "number of occurrences" metric from Circana for merch conditions like displays, features, and price reductions. Instead, they supply us with a CWD% for these metrics, to see how many percentage points of CWD a brand or item has tallied in a given week (or stretch of weeks).
Percentage points of CWD are added when a brand or item scans in a store location during a week when a merchandising condition also existed for that brand or item.
By scrolling far right on the "C&R" dashboard, you'll find measures like "CWD Any Display (MAX)", which indicates CWD% for a brand or item - derived by calculating scan activity when a display was present.
