New Date Slider for Enhanced Filtering

We’ve introduced a new Date Slider to the Walmart Power BI report to make it easier to filter and analyze data by time period, fully aligned with Walmart’s fiscal calendar.

How It Works:

The Date Slider allows you to select a specific timeframe based on Walmart’s week ending dates. Each selection represents a full week of data, with weeks ending on Fridays, consistent with Walmart’s fiscal year structure. This gives you a more precise and intuitive way to analyze performance over time.

You can access the Date Slider in the following tabs:

  • Item Performance

  • Summary

  • Locations

  • Items

  • Trending Instock

  • Store Performance Index

  • Weekly Performance

Improved Trending In-Stock Tab

In the Trending Instock tab of the Walmart Power BI reports, we’ve introduced a new metric called “IS Weekly %”, designed to give you more flexibility and precision when analyzing in-stock performance over time.

This metric works in tandem with the new Date Slider and Timeframe filter, located at the top of the page. The Date Slider allows you to select one or more specific weeks, and the “IS Weekly %” metric will calculate the average in-stock percentage for those selected weeks.

This enhancement provides a clearer view of how in-stock levels have trended over a custom timeframe, rather than being limited to a single point in time or a default date range.

Use Case:

This feature is especially valuable when reviewing historical performance—for example, if you want to evaluate in-stock rates over the last 13 or 26 weeks to identify patterns, spot potential issues, or measure improvement following inventory adjustments.

Data Check Tabs Now Available

We’ve added three new Data Check tabs to help you verify the accuracy of your data:

  • Distributor Check

  • Item Check

  • Location Check

Purpose:

These tabs are designed to help you cross-reference and validate the data currently displayed in your Power BI reports. By reviewing the information in these tabs, you can confirm that your distributor, item, and location details are up to date and accurately reflected in the reporting.

This feature provides an additional layer of transparency and control, allowing you to:

  • Confirm distributor names and store/brand combinations.

  • Verify item descriptions, UPCs, and other categorizations.

  • Review location names and related metadata.

What to Do If You See Discrepancies:

If you notice any incorrect or missing data while reviewing the Check tabs, please don’t hesitate to contact us here.

We're here to help ensure your reporting remains accurate and actionable.

Where to Find These Tabs:

The Data Check tabs can be found at the very bottom of the left-hand navigation panel in your Power BI environment.

Forecasting Now Available for Scintilla Basic

In the Walmart Power BI reports, we’re pleased to announce that forecasting capabilities are now available to all users who do not currently use NIQ Activate. This enhancement is part of our ongoing efforts to expand access to forward-looking insights across all users.

You can now view forecasting data in two key areas of the workbook:

  • “Zero Forecast by Item/Share” Pie Chart: This visual provides a clear breakdown of items expected to have zero movement in the upcoming weeks, helping you quickly identify distribution gaps or potential sales declines.

  • “4 Week Fcst” Column in the State Summary Table: This new column provides a four-week forecast at the state level, giving you a more informed view of expected performance and allowing for proactive planning.

These additions are designed to support better decision-making and inventory management by equipping you with timely, predictive insights
