How do I Ensure That Our Items Will Be Coded by Circana?
Package images should be submitted to InfoSource Support for any new items and ones which have already been selling but haven't shown up in the data yet.
- To ensure that Circana codes items quickly and accurately, please send package images for each item to support@InfoSource.ai. Without submitting package images, items may still find their way into the Circana database eventually, via info/images supplied by retailers, but if a supplier doesn’t actively submit new items through InfoSource Support, Circana coding is often delayed due to lack of imagery/sufficient information to code with.
- Circana’s image requirements are fairly rigid, and they won’t accept images where the UPC code is disembodied from the package. When gathering images, please reference examples of acceptable imagery for each package type, here. Image requirements differ depending on how an item is being packaged. For instance, the requirements for a 6pk of cans are different depending on whether they're packaged in a cardboard box or with PakTech rings.
- If a UPC represents a rotating SERIES or a SEASONAL rotation, please mention this in your email and send images for two of the flavors which will be included in the rotation, to prove that multiple flavors will be sharing the same UPC. If you only have imagery available for the first flavor in the rotation, please pair it with a sell sheet for the rotation and provide imagery for the next flavor as soon as it becomes available. Find more detailed information about requesting a SERIES or SEASONAL coding here.
- Please send images to support@InfoSource.ai as email attachments. If a bundle of image files are too big to send as email attachments, please try sending them in multiple emails or provide a link to a storage folder containing the images. JPGs are preferred, but PDFs are fine too. The primary requirement is that UPC codes and package details are clear and readable.
- to request a coding update for a UPC which is already established in Circana’s database, please see this Coding Update Request Guide.
